BPC-157 5mg UK – Body Protection Compound
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide corresponding to a 15-amino-acid sequence originally isolated from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. Since its identification in the 1990s by the research group of Sikiric et al., it has become one of the most extensively studied peptides in tissue repair research, with published data spanning tendon healing, angiogenesis, nitric oxide regulation, and gastrointestinal cytoprotection.

Research Background
Tissue repair and angiogenesis. BPC-157 has been studied in multiple tendon, ligament, muscle, and bone injury models. Research describes effects on fibroblast proliferation, collagen organisation, and blood vessel formation (angiogenesis) through mechanisms involving VEGF upregulation and FAK-paxillin pathway activation.
Nitric oxide system modulation. A central mechanism in BPC-157 research is its interaction with the nitric oxide (NO) system. Studies report modulation of NO synthase activity and interaction with NO-mediated tissue protection pathways, which may underlie its broad cytoprotective profile.
Gastrointestinal cytoprotection. Because BPC-157 is derived from a gastric protective compound, it has particular research relevance to GI tract studies including mucosal integrity, inflammatory bowel research, and ulcer models. This is the application area with the largest published literature base.
Neurological research. More recent research has explored BPC-157’s effects on dopaminergic and serotonergic systems, traumatic brain injury models, and neuroprotection.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between BPC-157 5mg and 10mg spray?
The 5mg vial is the standard lyophilised powder form, reconstituted with bacteriostatic water. The 10mg spray is a pre-formulated intranasal delivery format. The peptide itself is identical; the format differs based on research protocol requirements.
How should BPC-157 5mg be stored?
Lyophilised BPC-157 should be stored at -20°C for long-term stability. Once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, it should be kept at 2-8°C and used within 4 weeks for optimal potency.
Is BPC-157 legal to buy in the UK?
BPC-157 is sold in the UK as a research chemical for laboratory use only. It is not licensed as a medicine and is not intended for human or veterinary consumption.
For research and laboratory use only. Not for human or veterinary consumption.
